About
Moonlight Silhouettes
We were inspired by stories of a full moon and its reflections on the water and the silhouettes it creates.
We heard that the sunsets and moon rises can be seen from people’s gardens and one story about how the oak tree in their garden was the subject of this beautiful photograph. The tree featured on the pennant is the old apple tree in front of the Club which has the river as its backdrop.
Dog walkers are very much part of the landscape now and the sea wall paths and other footpaths are very much used by local people and those coming in from further afield. We really couldn’t do a series of pennants inspired by the area without including a man and his dog!
It is hoped that this stretch of river will form part of the Charles III Coastal Path, subject to ongoing negotiations with private land owners and the need for a footbridge just beyond Battlesbridge.
Images from an old map of the crossing and area around it shared by the Local History Society are drawn on each of our six pennants about this stretch of coastline.
